As part of its ongoing efforts to develop the competencies of professionals working in the hospitality sector, the Jordan Hotels Association held a training course on Monday, May 18, 2026, entitled “Sales and Upselling Skills,” targeting employees of hotel establishments in the capital, Amman. The course was delivered by trainer Ghazi Batarseh.

The training aimed to enhance the sales skills of hotel employees and equip them with professional techniques that contribute to increasing revenues and improving guest experiences within hotel establishments, in line with modern hospitality industry standards.

The program addressed the concept of upselling and the mechanisms for applying it within hotels, highlighting the latest methods that help employees present services and offers professionally while taking guests’ needs into consideration and supporting the operational performance of the establishment.

The course focused on front office and food & beverage departments, as they are among the most interactive with guests. It emphasized the importance of utilizing direct guest touchpoints to introduce additional services and available hotel offers, thereby enhancing guest satisfaction and increasing revenues.

The training also covered communication and persuasion skills, understanding guest expectations, and the role of various hotel departments in supporting sales operations and achieving organizational goals, based on the concept of integrated teamwork within the hospitality sector.

The sessions witnessed active engagement from participants through the exchange of practical experiences and discussions of daily workplace situations faced by employees, adding a practical dimension to the course topics.

The Jordan Hotels Association continues to implement specialized training programs and courses targeting hospitality sector employees, with the aim of developing professional skills and enhancing workforce efficiency in line with the evolving hospitality industry and labor market requirements.
