The Jordan Hotels Association (JHA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Health, and the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), organised an awareness workshop entitled “Inspection and Oversight Requirements and Procedures for Hotel Establishments”, attended by a number of managers and representatives of hotel establishments across the Kingdom. The workshop was held as part of the Association’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and inspection procedures adopted by the relevant authorities.
At the beginning of the workshop, the Jordan Hotels Association welcomed the participants and expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the government and regulatory authorities, as well as their cooperation in preparing for and participating in the workshop. The Association emphasised the importance of strengthening partnerships and direct communication between the hotel sector and the relevant authorities, contributing to greater clarity regarding inspection procedures and requirements and enhancing compliance with applicable legislation and regulations.
The Association highlighted that organising this workshop forms part of a series of awareness workshops it plans to implement in cooperation with the relevant government and regulatory authorities. These workshops aim to enhance awareness among hotel establishments, address their enquiries, discuss the challenges they face, and work towards identifying appropriate solutions, thereby contributing to the development of the working environment within the hotel sector.
For his part, Eng. Mohammad Al-Khaldi, Director of the Economic Activities Inspection and Oversight Unit, emphasised the importance of the Inspection and Oversight Law in developing the regulatory framework governing economic activities and ensuring greater clarity in inspection procedures and mechanisms. He also outlined the measures undertaken by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply in this regard, highlighting its role in regulating inspection and oversight operations in accordance with the applicable legislative frameworks.
The workshop also addressed the inspection and oversight requirements and procedures applicable to hotel establishments, the roles and responsibilities of the regulatory authorities, and the importance of strengthening compliance with relevant regulatory and legislative requirements. These efforts aim to help hotel establishments address observations and overcome challenges they may encounter during inspection visits.
This initiative reflects the Jordan Hotels Association’s commitment to supporting hotel establishments and strengthening cooperation and coordination with government and regulatory authorities. It also contributes to enhancing the performance of the hotel sector, improving compliance with applicable legislation and regulations, and advancing the quality of tourism services across the Kingdom.
