The Jordan Hotels Association signs a Memorandum of Understanding for the Water Conservation (WEC) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

Amman - Jordan

Mr. Hussein Hilalat, Deputy Chairman of the Jordan Hotels Association, sponsored the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Water Conservation (WEC) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The collaboration aims to raise awareness in the hospitality sector, which is one of the largest consumers of water, about the importance of water conservation in Jordan by improving water use efficiency and developing market systems that encourage the adoption of water-saving technologies and practices.

Both teams will support hotels’ technical and professional capacities in implementing water conservation practices and improving water use efficiency. They will also work on designing incentives for hotels that implement these practices and enable them to execute initiatives that promote the safe and effective use of water.

The project will offer a grant program for the private (hotel) sector, which will, in turn, financially support hotels in implementing technical practices and mechanisms for applying them.

The Jordan Hotels Association is always looking forward to a fruitful and effective collaboration that will promote behavioral change related to water usage, conservation, and the importance of involving women and youth in water conservation activities.
