The Jordan Hotels Association participated in a discussion session to review the Municipal Water Efficiency Improvement Guide in Jordan, which was developed by the Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The interactive digital guide provides a comprehensive overview of the importance of improving water use efficiency, along with an exploration of the best technologies and practices for water conservation. It also outlines the steps and mechanisms for conducting water audits, calculating economic feasibility, and presenting alternative water resources and enabling environments. Additionally, the guide includes checklists for implementing best practices in water consumption reduction.
The guide is designed for professionals in the water sector, as well as municipal water users across various sectors, including residential buildings, hotels, tourism establishments, hospitals, public and commercial buildings, and gardens. Participants in the session emphasized the importance of incorporating their recommendations to enhance the guide’s content and achieve its objectives.
The Jordan Hotels Association reaffirmed its active role in promoting environmental sustainability within the hospitality and tourism sector. It highlighted that implementing the guide’s recommendations would be a significant step toward effective water resource management, particularly with the introduction of new technologies and guidelines for water conservation.
