Amman - Jordan
On Monday, December 16, 2024, the Jordan Hotels Association participated in the launch ceremony for the establishment of Recycling Banks in the Tla’ Al-Ali area. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Mayor of Amman Municipality, with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The Recycling Banks Project is an innovative solution aimed at promoting waste separation at the source and encouraging the commercial sector, including hotels, to adopt recycling practices. The project seeks to establish specialized centers at designated locations within the city to collect recyclable materials with market value, instead of collecting them in a mixed form that leads to landfill disposal.
This initiative marks a significant step toward advancing environmental efforts in the Kingdom and laying the foundation for a more sustainable future for Amman. It also reflects the commitment of various sectors, including hospitality and hotels, to supporting environmental initiatives focused on efficient resource management and sustainable development.
The event concluded with an emphasis on the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive sustainability forward and achieve environmental and developmental goals that benefit everyone.
