The Jordan Hotels Association recently held a meeting with security managers from five-star hotels to discuss key security challenges facing the hotel sector amid the current regional circumstances, and to work on enhancing protection and safety measures in tourism establishments.

During the meeting, participants addressed both general and hotel-specific security issues, including entrances and exits, screening equipment, and the necessary preventive measures to reduce security vulnerabilities. The goal is to help safeguard hotels and ensure the safety of both citizens and guests.

The discussion also highlighted the conditions of employees in hotel security departments, particularly the issue of low salaries compared to other departments. The importance of addressing this disparity was emphasized, given the vital role security personnel play in hotel operations.

The Association expressed its appreciation for the significant efforts of various security agencies—particularly the General Intelligence Department, the Greater Amman Municipality, and other relevant entities—for their continued monitoring of hotel sector safety and for providing all possible support under the current circumstances.

The meeting also underscored the need for internal emergency plans that include the provision of safe shelter areas within hotels in the event of any danger, along with basic necessities such as food and water. This is seen as a precautionary measure to avoid panic or disorganized evacuation.

The Jordan Hotels Association reaffirmed its full commitment to cooperating with the relevant authorities and exerting every effort to protect hotel establishments and enhance their preparedness to face challenges, in order to preserve the nation’s security and stability.
