The Jordan Hotels Association and the General Trade Union of Workers in Public Services (GTU) Sign a Collective Labor Agreement to Enhance Workers’ Rights and Develop the Hotel Sector

The Jordan Hotels Association (JHA), represented by its Vice Chairman, Engineer Osama Madanat, and the General Trade Union of Workers in Public Services, Free Professions, Communications and Information Technology, represented by its President, Mr. Khaled Abu Marjoub, signed on Monday, 5 January 2026, a Collective Labor Agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two parties, safeguarding the rights of workers in the hotel sector, and enhancing their professional performance. This agreement seeks to ensure the continued delivery of hotel services in accordance with the highest quality standards.

The agreement aims to promote constructive dialogue and ongoing coordination between the Association and the Union with regard to the hotel sector, and to protect the rights of employees in hotel establishments in accordance with the Jordanian Labor Law. It also seeks to raise the professional standards of workers in the hotel sector and to develop their capabilities through training and professional development programs, ensure job stability, and provide a suitable working environment and decent conditions that contribute to delivering distinguished services to visitors. In addition, the agreement supports the Union’s participation in training programs and the exchange of expertise, contributing to the sustainable development of the sector.

The signing ceremony was attended on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Hotels Association by Mr. Hussein Hilalat, Mr. Hani Al-Dabbas, Mr. Mohammad Al-Qasem, and Mr. Hassan Madi. Representing the General Trade Union were His Excellency Mr. Khaled Al-Fanatseh, President of the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, Ms. Rana Abu Luhah, Vice President of the Union, and Mr. Khaled Mubarak, Member of the Union’s Board of Directors.

This agreement comes as part of both parties’ commitment to strengthening amicable relations and mutual understanding, and to working jointly to develop the hotel sector and enhance its efficiency in a manner that serves the interests of workers and the Jordanian tourism sector as a whole.
