The Chairman of the Jordan Hotels Association, former Senator Engineer Abdul-Hakim Mahmoud Al-Hindi, along with the Board members of the Association’s, expressed their appreciation for the recent Cabinet decision to amend the service tax in Jordanian hotel establishments from 5% to 7%.
Al-Hindi and the Board members extended their sincere thanks to Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan and Minister of Tourism Lina Annab for approving this decision, following the concerted efforts made by the Association to amend the tax.
Al-Hindi and the Association members affirmed that this decision will have a positive impact on hotel employees in Jordan, especially given the challenging circumstances facing most hotels and the broader negative effects on the tourism sector due to the regional situation.
The Association has issued official letters to hotel managements across Jordan, informing them that the Cabinet’s decision has been in effect since its issuance on the 26th of this month.
