The Board Members of the Jordan Hotels Association Meets with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities

The Jordan Hotels Association held a cordial and official meeting with H.E. Dr. Imad Hijazin, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, in a formal gathering attended by His Excellency alongside the Association’s Chairman and Members of the Board. The meeting reflected the genuine spirit of partnership between the public and private sectors in supporting the continued advancement of Jordan’s tourism industry.

During the meeting, the Association outlined the most pressing challenges facing the hotel sector in the Kingdom, including rising operational costs, the shortage of qualified labor, and the need to update certain legislative frameworks in line with regional and global developments. Discussions also emphasized the importance of strengthening tourism promotion efforts and opening new markets to increase occupancy rates and ensure sustainable growth.

The Chairman of the Association underscored that the upcoming phase requires unified efforts and the establishment of clear priorities to enhance the competitiveness of the Jordanian hotel product. He stressed the importance of joint action to develop practical, implementable solutions that safeguard sector stability and support continued investment.

For his part, the Minister presented his vision for the next phase, outlining the strategic directions the Ministry seeks to achieve in partnership with the Association. Chief among these priorities are improving service quality, enhancing training and capacity building, and increasing operational efficiency, in alignment with the Economic Modernization Vision and in a manner that strengthens Jordan’s position on the regional and international tourism map.

Attendees commended the Minister’s collaborative approach, affirming that this direct dialogue reflects the Ministry’s commitment to listening to the sector’s concerns and addressing its challenges with a positive and responsible spirit. The Minister reiterated his full support for the hotel sector, emphasizing that the Ministry’s doors remain open to all initiatives aimed at advancing the tourism industry and ensuring its sustainability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to convene again in the coming days to further examine the discussed files in greater depth, follow up on developments, and establish clear implementation mechanisms to achieve their shared objectives.

This meeting sends a clear message that the next phase will witness closer cooperation and higher levels of coordination between the Ministry and the Association, thereby reinforcing investor confidence and consolidating Jordan’s standing as a safe and distinguished tourism destination at both the regional and global levels.
