Ramadan Gathering Strengthens Dialogue Between Government and the Hotel Sector in Jordan

In a distinguished celebratory atmosphere reflecting the spirit of cooperation and partnership between the public and private sectors, the Jordan Hotels Association hosted an official event under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Emad Hijazin, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. The event was attended by esteemed ministers and senior officials, members of the Association’s Board of Directors, and a large gathering of leading investors and executives from the hotel and tourism sectors across the Kingdom. The evening was professionally emceed by media figure Dr. Hani Al-Badri, whose presentation added a refined and well-structured tone to the program.

The ceremony commenced with a speech by the Minister, who welcomed the attendees and expressed his appreciation for this initiative that brings together a distinguished group of investors and professionals from the tourism and hospitality sectors under one umbrella. He emphasized that such gatherings serve as an important platform for strengthening dialogue and partnership between the public and private sectors.

His Excellency noted that the tourism sector is currently going through a sensitive phase in light of regional and global developments and their impact on travel and tourism flows. He affirmed that the Ministry is working in cooperation with relevant stakeholders and representatives of the tourism sector to develop a package of practical measures and solutions aimed at supporting the sector’s continuity, enhancing its ability to address current challenges, and maintaining its competitiveness as one of the key pillars of the national economy.

The Minister also praised the active role played by the Jordan Hotels Association in representing the voice of the hotel sector, coordinating with official entities, and working closely with the Ministry to formulate initiatives that support hotel establishments and stimulate tourism activity in the coming period.

Following this, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Hotels Association, Mr. Hani Al-Dabbas, gave a speech underscoring the importance of genuine partnership between the public and private sectors. He noted that this gathering comes within the framework of promoting constructive dialogue and discussing the key challenges facing the hotel sector in light of current regional conditions, which have led to a decline in bookings and the cancellation of a number of tourism programs.

Al-Dabbas explained that the Association is working in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and relevant entities through a participatory approach to develop practical solutions that support the sector during this phase. These include launching incentive-driven initiatives, stimulating domestic demand, and enhancing the promotion of Jordan’s tourism product, in addition to supporting efforts aimed at alleviating operational burdens on hotel establishments.

He further noted that the coming phase requires greater coordination and joint action among all components of the tourism sector and official entities, in order to ensure the sector’s sustainability and strengthen its ability to overcome challenges, in alignment with national plans and the future vision for tourism development toward achieving the 2030 targets
