In a move aimed at strengthening the partnership between the academic and tourism sectors, the Jordan Hotels Association signed a joint cooperation agreement with Ammon Applied University College. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Association by Vice Chairman Mr. Hani Al-Dabbas, and on behalf of the College by its Dean, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Kurdi.
The agreement aims to develop specialized applied educational programs in the fields of tourism and hospitality, aligned with labor market needs, and to contribute to preparing qualified professionals capable of supporting the tourism sector and enhancing its competitiveness.
Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Kurdi emphasized that the agreement is in line with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Accreditation Commission, highlighting the College’s commitment to providing high-quality applied education that meets market requirements. He also noted the importance of collaboration with tourism sector institutions in developing curricula and enhancing practical training.
For his part, Hani Al-Dabbas stressed the importance of this partnership in linking educational outcomes with the needs of the hotel sector. He pointed out that the Association places great importance on supporting initiatives that qualify young people and enhance their professional skills, which positively reflects on the quality of tourism services in the Kingdom.
The agreement covers cooperation in areas such as practical training leading to employment, organizing joint programs, and exploring the establishment of new specializations in tourism and hotel management as well as applied languages, in order to enhance employment opportunities and keep pace with sector developments.
This cooperation comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to strengthen integration between higher education institutions and the private sector, contributing to economic development and supporting the sustainability of the tourism sector in Jordan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a letter of thanks and appreciation was presented to Mr. Hani Al-Dabbas, Vice Chairman of the Jordan Hotels Association, in recognition of his efforts and active role in supporting the establishment of specialized programs and strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and the tourism sector. This reflects a commitment to developing educational outcomes, aligning them with labor market needs, and establishing sustainable partnership pathways between the two parties.
