Jordan Hotels Association Participates in the Launch of the National Occupational Safety and Health Week

Amman - Jordan

The Jordan Hotels Association participated in the launch of the 19th National Occupational Safety and Health Week, which took place on Monday under the patronage of Minister of Labor Dr. Khaled Al-Bakar, under the theme: “With Updated Legislation and a Positive Culture, We Create a Safe Work Environment.” This participation reflects the importance of occupational safety and health in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The event was attended by the General Manager of the Jordan Hotels Association, Mustafa Kawash, along with a number of partners and representatives from both the public and private sectors. The week was organized as part of the Ministry of Labor’s efforts to raise awareness and promote a culture of occupational safety and health, aiming to enhance overall standards among all production elements, educate employers, workers, and the wider community on the importance of investing in this field, and strengthen coordination and collaboration among all relevant stakeholders across the Kingdom.

In his speech, Minister of Labor Dr. Khaled Al-Bakar emphasized that this week embodies the government’s commitment to protecting human resources and fostering a safe and healthy work environment across all sectors. He noted that the event coincides with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, observed annually on April 28.

Dr. Al-Bakar explained that these activities fall within the framework of implementing the National Occupational Safety and Health Strategy for the years 2023–2027. This strategy serves as a roadmap aimed at preventing workplace accidents and injuries through awareness and inspection campaigns, specialized workshops, distribution of educational materials, and the development and modernization of relevant legislation.
