Jordan Hotels Association Participates in Green Key Audit Visits to Jerash and Madaba Visitor Centres

Jerash and Madaba

The Jordan Hotels Association participated in the audit visits conducted by the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS), the national operator of the Green Key Programme in Jordan, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), to the Jerash and Madaba Visitor Centres, following their joining of the Green Key Programme.

The joining of the Jerash and Madaba Visitor Centres represents a significant achievement, as they are the first tourist attractions in Jordan to join the Green Key Programme and apply for certification under the Tourist Attractions category.

The audit visits were conducted with the participation of several members of the National Green Key Committee, with the aim of assessing the extent of compliance with the programme’s approved environmental criteria and enhancing the implementation of sustainable practices at tourist sites.

The Jordan Hotels Association’s participation comes as part of its support for efforts to promote sustainable tourism and expand the application of environmental standards and practices across the tourism sector, contributing to the strengthening of the concept of green tourism in Jordan.
