Jordan Hotels Association Participates in Consultative Workshop on Circular Solutions to Reduce Plastic Pollution

The Jordan Hotels Association participated in the consultative workshop on the “Circular Solutions to Plastic Pollution” project, held on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

The workshop aimed to discuss the regulatory and institutional framework for reducing the use of single-use plastic products, while reviewing relevant national policies and legislation. It also highlighted international best practices, success stories, and innovative industrial solutions that support the transition towards a circular economy.

The workshop featured specialized sessions addressing regulatory gap assessments, proposed technical specifications, and strategies to reduce the use of single-use plastics within the food and beverage sector. In addition, participants engaged in open discussions to exchange experiences and address questions related to the proposed initiatives.

The Jordan Hotels Association’s participation reflects its commitment to keeping pace with national initiatives that promote environmental sustainability within the tourism and hospitality sector. It also underscores the Association’s support for efforts to reduce the use of single-use plastic products and encourage the adoption of sustainable practices across hotel establishments, in line with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals.
