The meeting was held as part of the Association’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the hotel sector and government entities, and to develop practical plans to address environmental challenges in a manner that ensures resource sustainability and the protection of the local environment.
Participants reviewed the environmental measures implemented in the region, including the current status of waste management and the importance of adhering to national cleanliness and environmental protection programs. Emphasis was placed on the need to continue intensive efforts to ensure full control of the issue ahead of the upcoming tourism season.
Attendees stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors and establishing clear mechanisms for follow-up and implementation to achieve the desired environmental objectives, safeguard the natural resources of the Dead Sea, and promote a clean and healthy environment for the region’s hotels and visitors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to maintain ongoing coordination and follow-up among all concerned parties in order to build on current achievements and continue efforts toward sustainable environmental performance, reflecting the role of the Jordan Hotels Association as a key partner in supporting hotels and preserving the environment.
