Jordan
In a step that reflects national responsibility and continued support for the tourism sector, the Jordan Hotels Association has announced a package of measures aimed at alleviating the burdens on hotel and tourism establishments under the current circumstances. This comes in line with the challenges facing the sector and in recognition of the need to ensure its sustainability and enhance its operational capacity.
The support package include exempting hotel establishments from annual membership fees, contributing to the reduction of direct operational costs and supporting the ability of these establishments to continue operating and deliver services efficiently, particularly in light of economic changes and pressures that have affected tourism activity.
The Association affirmed that this step is part of an integrated vision to support sector partners, enhance their resilience in responding to developments, and encourage investment while maintaining the quality of services provided to visitors. This, in turn, helps preserve Jordan’s competitiveness as a distinguished tourism destination.
In the same context, the Association stated that it has raised and followed up on a number of key sector-related demands with the relevant authorities, many of which have been addressed over the past period, while work is still ongoing to complete the remaining ones. These include issues related to taxation, banking facilitation, financial restructuring and settlements, and other priority matters for hotel and tourism establishments.
The Association also stressed the importance of joint efforts among all relevant stakeholders to support the tourism sector, noting its continued work on exploring further initiatives aimed at supporting hotel establishments and achieving a balance between financial sustainability and service quality.
The Association called on all establishments to benefit from these facilitations, reaffirming its full commitment to standing by the sector during this phase and working to overcome challenges in a way that serves the national economy.
