Dead Sea Fly and Mosquito Control Committee Concludes Inspection Tour of Hotel Establishments

The Dead Sea Fly and Mosquito Control Committee has concluded its inspection tour of hotel establishments in the Dead Sea region as part of ongoing joint efforts to limit the spread of flies and mosquitoes, safeguard the environment and public health, and enhance the quality of tourism services in the area.

The inspection tour brought together representatives from the Jordan Hotels Association, the Southern Shouneh District Governorate, the Southern Shouneh Directorate of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Environment, the Royal Department for Environment Protection, the Local Administration Directorate, in addition to several other relevant stakeholders.

During the tour, the committee reviewed the preventive measures implemented by hotel establishments to control the spread of flies and mosquitoes. The inspection also focused on ensuring that any standing water or potential breeding sites for insects were properly addressed, while verifying compliance with approved public health and environmental regulations.

The committee emphasized the importance of maintaining close cooperation and coordination between government entities and the hotel sector, as well as continuing preventive control programs and regular inspections. These efforts contribute to preserving the environment, protecting public health, strengthening the Dead Sea’s position as a distinguished tourism destination, and ensuring the highest standards of service for visitors.
