The Jordan Hotels Association participated in a symposium at Yarmouk University under the auspices of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Islam Massad.
Mr. Mustafa Kawash, the general manager of Jordan Hotels Association, participated in a symposium entitled “Student engagement in the tourism sector”.Through this symposium, Mr. Kawash highlighted the role of young people in the development of the tourism sector, stressing the importance of investing their energies and employing their skills to promote tourism growth.He noted the role of the hotel sector in the continuous development and training of working cadres, stressing the importance of developing human resources to improve the quality of services provided to visitors. During the symposium, the Society’s efforts in promoting training and skills development in the hospitality and tourism industry in Jordan were reviewed.
In this context, Mr. Kawash stressed the need to activate the role of Jordanian labour force in the sector, noting that the development and training of local cadres is an essential part of the strategy for the development of the tourist and hotel sector in the Kingdom, in order to improve the economy and provide employment opportunities for Jordanian youth and promote sustainability and development in this sector.
