Jordan Hotels Association participates in a workshop to promote water efficiency in the tourism sector

Jordan Hotels Association participated in the workshop organized by the Water Conservation Project WEC, funded by USAID and in collaboration with the Association, aims to improve water consumption efficiency in various sectors, focusing on the tourism sector as one of the largest consumers of these resources. This cooperation is part of a joint effort to promote environmental and economic sustainability and ease pressure on Jordan’s water resources.
During the workshop, The Head of the member services department of the association discussed the main challenges facing hotel facilities in water conservation. The tourism sector relies heavily on water to meet the needs of guests and ensure quality of services High rates of water consumption in hotels are a challenge for innovative solutions. Such as water saving techniques that contribute to reducing waste and increasing the efficiency of the systems used.
She also emphasized that challenges are not limited to operational systems, but also include raising awareness among hotel and inmate workers about the importance of rationalizing water consumption and that investing in water saving techniques not only serves environmental sustainability, but also reflects positively on operational efficiency, thereby reducing costs and enhancing the tourism sector’s positive image as an environmentally responsible sector.
The Jordan Hotels Association expressed its full support for such projects that contribute to the development of the tourism sector, stressing that cooperation with the Water Conservation Project (WEC) reflects its commitment to promoting sustainable practices in the sector and stressed the importance of continuing to implement such initiatives that provide practical solutions to environmental and economic challenges and contribute to the conservation of natural resources for future generations.
