The Jordan Hotels Association and the Makanati Project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), launch the findings of a feasibility study on childcare services in the hospitality sector

Amman - Jordan

Under the patronage of His Excellency Senator Engineer Abdul Hakim Al Hindi, President of the Jordan Hotels Association, the association released the results of a feasibility study on childcare services for employees in the hospitality sector, in collaboration with the USAID Makanati Project for the economic and leadership empowerment of women.

The study assessed the needs and demand for childcare services among employees in the hospitality sector and delved into evaluating the readiness of hotel managers and childcare providers to engage in collaborative efforts to identify alternative solutions tailored to meet the needs of each geographical area. Furthermore, the study provided final recommendations on the most suitable childcare model for implementation in each specific area.

His Excellency AbdulHakim Al Hindi emphasized the association’s appreciation for the efforts of employees and their continuous commitment to providing a supportive and motivating work environment by finding successful solutions for childcare services for hospitality workers and promoting women’s presence in employment opportunities within the sector.

Richard Chin, Director of the Economic Development and Energy Office at USAID in Jordan, stated: “Understanding the needs and expectations of both employers and employees will help in finding effective and actionable solutions to support working parents in the hospitality sector.”

The United States has a long-standing partnership with the Jordanian government that spans 75 years, aiming to empower women, promote their prosperity, and enable them to take on responsibilities in the economy, society, and politics.
